Afri Beads

Jewellery

Afri Beads are beads that care

'Afri Beads' are made by a group of 30 women in Kampala, Uganda called the Kind Mother's Association. These women previously were some of the many millions of people living in extreme poverty, struggling to survive and look after their children.

'Afri beads' create hope for these Ugandan women by giving them a fair price for the beautiful jewellery they make. with economic self sufficiency they can take control of their own lives.

The women make the beads from strips of recycled paper cut into triangles and rolled into shape, then painted with sealant, before being created into unique and gorgeous jewellery.

Dear AfriBeads Supporter

We have just returned from visiting the Kind Mothers’ Project in Uganda. We had a wonderful time meeting the mothers and seeing them make the jewellery.

We are happy to announce that since AfriBeads has been partnering with this project, 17 children are now attending school! Their mothers have been provided with an income and the independence to support their families. We look forward to helping even more families this year.

Our beads will now be even better! We provided stainless steel parrot clasps to the mothers so necklaces will now be made with these clasps. Beads will be finished with an eco-friendly acrylic based sealant.

We also have some exciting new designs in the AfriBeads range which we will be introducing shortly!

Thank you again for your support.
